This workbook contains complete step-by-step tutorials for mastering the functions and tasks necessary to do studio work as well as understanding how to use Photoshop® as a creative tool for the textile design industry.
One hundred pages with color screen-grabs illustrating the step-by-step process to support the crystal-clear text instructions. Within hours you will be able to complete tasks such as indexing flat and tonal prints, recoloring and creating color combinations for both flat and tonal prints, setting up and proofing straight-drop repeats using offset. Then, how about creating coordinates to the designs you have already created multiple colorways for and want to maintain the colorways? Yes, you will learn that also.
See how easy it is to put a simple set pattern into a half-drop or create a turning square. Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will be taught how to do a more complex all over half-drop repeat!
Don’t forget plaids, woven simulations and adding texture grounds to your prints, we haven’t.
The basics of saving, loading, browsing files, creating patterns, mixing colors, building and saving pattern and color swatch libraries are covered as well.
For presentation boards, you will learn how to drop repeat patterns into flat silhouettes, add shading and highlights for a more realistic look. And for you diehards, there is a chapter on texture mapping photographic images.
There are files on the site that you can download in order to follow along with the book.
Keep checking back for new tips and tricks.
